So what's new?

Not much! As per my last post no sewing has taken place. But that doesn't mean I have no updates for you.

Sewing
Even though I haven't done any sewing, apart from mending some RTW work trousers, something quite significant happened. I signed up for Gertie's online Class Sew Retro: The perfect fit bombshell dress. I had been eagerly waiting this and signed up straight away. It will my first project after my move is complete.
I am an avid reader of Gertie's New Blog for Better Sewing and a huge fan. I participated successfully in two of her sew alongs and have found her teaching methods brilliant. Once I start I'll keep you updated.

Knitting
Now that my machine is packed away and my fabric out of view, the only crafty activity left to do is knitting. Not that I am complaining. I started this gorgeous cardigan from A Stitch in Time Vol.1 a few months ago but have not advanced at all. I seem to have a major tension issue and made countless swatches until I got it right. I'm also knitting with tiny needles which make my finger tips hurt after a few rows. I'm getting there though :).

Nothing more to update expect that my flat looks like a war zone with boxes and bubble wrap and tape anywhere and everywhere. I will have a week away from it all as I'll be relaxing in the sun all next week. F is staying and packing a bit more. I decided not to take my DSLR so can't promise good photos but will take my small compact and promise that if any decent, relevant photos are taken I will share them with you.
On that note I realise than many moons ago I mention I was thinking of doing a post series on photography and so far I have failed on that. Promise to work on that soon. And on a completely unrelated note, are you on Google+? What do you think of it?

    so far, you had great fabric choices for your projects, so I am really looking forward to you choice for the Bombshell Dress. And do finish that cardigan - it's gorgeous! I break down my knitting projects in steps and reward myself for each completed step with something nice - I am a veeeeery slow knitter.

    I'm doing the bombshell dress too and am very excited about it. Though I haven't picked out my fabric yet. I'll be interested in seeing yours!

    Eee! I signed up for Gertie's course as well, and I'm so excited to get started! (I've already watched almost all the videos in my excitement.) I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Good luck with the move!

    I'm also taking Gertie's course right now. I have so many ongoing projects that I've only been watching the videos so far. I hope to make up my muslin in the near future, but I'm not sure when I'll get to the actual dress. I just shouldn't buy more fabric and sewing supplies right now. (That said, I almost broke down and ordered some today - so we'll see how long I can hold out.)

    Good luck with the move! I can't wait to see what you come up with for your dress, you always pick such awesome fabrics/ patterns.

    Thank you all very much and I hope not to disappoint with my fabric choice for the bombshell dress. I'm trying to use as much as possible from my existing stash and have a fabric already in mind for the dress. But not sure yet! Happy to see so many of you signed up. Love group sewing :)

    I love the clothes in A Stitch in time too much to give up on knitting. I will persist. And I also can't wait for vol 2 to be released.

    Photography post series to start end August, I'll be more than happy to share some tips and ideas on how to improve or expand your skills. I love photography!

    Google+ is very similar in idea to facebook but much, much easier to use and friendly. From the little exploring I've done it looks so much better than facebook. Privacy setting, photos copyright and other things that are very confusing in fb are very very straightforward.
