A Shirt for Rob

This is McCalls 6044, a nice and simple men's shirt started ages ago and finished just in time to wrap and give to Rob for Christmas. It's my second make of this pattern and aside from a few mistakes it went quite smoothly. I think he likes it.
I hope you all have a lovely end of 2012 and I hope to be back stronger and happier in 2013! Love you all, thank you for sticking with me through my good and bad moments.

  1. Wow, it looks great! I don't know why, but Men's shirts scare me. I avoid collars and button holes at all costs... Yours looks absolutely perfect!

    1. I have to say it used to scare me too, but this pattern is just dead easy :)

  2. What a great looking shirt, it sounds stupid, but I'm always a little shocked by how professional (and shop bought) looking the stuff people sew comes out like ... possibly because mine rarely does ;)

I hope you have an amazing 2013 Suzy, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you this year, I hope we manage to catch up again soon. I've loved following your adventures here on the blog, I hope to read more next year x

  3. I made a Colette Negroni for my Mister months ago and I'd really like to make another one soon. I felt extra proud of myself when I finished since collars and sleeve plackets aren't the easiest things! Your shirt looks top notch :)

  4. Suzy this is awesome! I love making men's shirts, and would be curious to know if you fitted it or whether you made it as a surprise, because it looks perfect.....I have sewn plenty, but never fitted to a man before. Hmm, maybe that's something i should try.
It as super fun meeting you Suzy at last, and hope to again in 2013. Have a great year, wx

It was the second shirt I made for him so merely hoped he hadn't put weight on ;) For the first one I did a quick and dirty tissue fit. I simply tapered from a size S to a M at the waist. I found it much easier that fitting on myself.

  6. That shirt looks great, I need to show this to Dave. He's so picky with his clothes. I wanted to make him a shirt for ages now, maybe this is the one.
All the best for 2013!!! (better late than never) Lots of love!!!
